Challenge
Trouble connecting patients to care
Three Rivers Community Care is a community care center in Carnegie, PA. They offer a variety of services including at-home residential care, art therapy, and occupational therapy. Unfortunately, with a legacy website that was out of date, difficult to update, and disorganized, this local business could not support the Pittsburgh community how it wanted.
Our team sat down with founder, Allison Broaddrick, to understand her pain points as a business owner and to uncover opportunities to improve her existing website. These included:
-
Trouble editing and updating content on the existing site
-
Obscure call to action for interested patients
-
No access to a HIPAA-compliant form for patient intake
-
General disorganization and broken links
Our team set out to create a new website for Allison that allowed her to easily organize and update content and provided patients with an intuitive browsing experience that would ultimately lead to secure requests for services. We chose to utilize Wix as it is a cost-effective option that includes an easy-to-use editing interface for website owners.
Design process
Site map and visual identity
To begin, we documented the current organization of pages on the site and identified several dead ends and duplicate screens. From there, we drafted a site map to outline the reorganization of pages. This outlined the potential user flows and allowed us to optimize the placement of calls-to-action throughout the site.

We then shifted our focus to the look and feel of the site. The current color palette was dark and did not align to Allison's vision for her business. After research, we created an updated moodboard and color palette which highlighted the calm, friendly, and professional nature that Three Rivers Community Care embodies.

Low fidelity wireframes
The team began to translate the new site map into low-fidelity wireframes. We iterated on our wireframes and increased the fidelity to that seen below:

User testing
Team work makes the dream work!! As we began translating our wireframes into Wix, we utilized our full team of re:Bloom volunteers to collect feedback on our designs and conduct usability testing.
